Hair Restoration

413 Medical Aesthetics treats hair loss with injection therapy to restore hair follicles naturally.

What is Injection Therapy for hair restoration?

This is a treatment during which the patient’s own blood gets drawn, processed, then injected into the scalp to trigger natural hair growth for hair loss or balding patients.

Hair restoration is ideal for women and men who suffer from excessive hair loss. This hair restoration method works particularly well for those diagnosed with Androgenic Alopecia (male/female pattern baldness). This can manifest in either receding hairlines or balding patches on the scalp.

This procedure increases the blood supply to the hair follicle, increasing hair count and thickness, and extending the growth phase of the hair cycle. This procedure generally works best in a three-treatment package, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

Step 1

Your blood is drawn — typically from your arm — and put into a centrifuge (a machine that spins rapidly to separate fluids of different densities).

Step 2

After about 10 minutes in the centrifuge, your blood will have separated into in three layers:

  • platelet-poor plasma
  • platelet-rich plasma
  • red blood cells

Step 3

The platelet-rich plasma is drawn up into a syringe and then injected into areas of the scalp that need increased hair growth.

What to expect after hair restoration treatment:

Avoid washing the treatment area for 48 hours.  After that, it is okay to use hair and skin care products, and also continue with topical medications prescribed by Dr. Wright. It is normal for the treatment area to be sore for two or three days.
